This is a specific investment <strong>for the development of telemedicine nationwide<\/strong>, which in Trentino is implemented in the <strong>Operational Plan<\/strong> approved last year. &#8220;Thanks to PNRR resources &#8211; commented councilor Tonina &#8211; we aim to implement telemedicine services throughout the Trento province in the areas provided for by the National Guidelines on the subject, namely<strong> diabetology, cardiology, pulmonology, oncology, neurology.<\/strong> The goal is to improve access to services and ensure that health is closer to people: in this sense, <strong>telemedicine<\/strong> is a useful support to improve the care offered to people with <strong>chronic diseases<\/strong>, support us in <strong>monitoring<\/strong> the health conditions of <strong>seniors<\/strong> in particular and, in perspective, can help us face one of the strongest challenges that await us, i.e. <strong>the aging of the population<\/strong> with the consequent increase in <strong>chronic diseases<\/strong>, &#8221; Tonina concluded.<\/p>\n<p>In the province of Trento, a specific <strong>Operational Plan and a related Organizational Model for telemedicine are implemented; the<\/strong> latter is a tool that provides for a central role of the Healthcare System, which is entrusted with the governance and coordination of telemedicine programs involving all the players of the Provincial Healthcare System. The objective is\u00a0to<strong>\u00a0extend the use of the different types of telemedicine services (virtual visits, virtualconsultation, remote follow-up, remote assistance)<\/strong> to all <strong>professionals<\/strong> involved in particular in the management of patients with the main <strong>chronic<\/strong> diseases, while ensuring the full integration of services with the national enabling platform that ensures circularity between Regions and Autonomous Provinces. The areas of<br \/>\nintervention range from <strong>prevention and health promotion<\/strong>, to the <strong>management of patients with chronic diseases<\/strong>, up to the <strong>management of home care<\/strong>, ensuring the use of telemedicine especially for check-ups and <em>follow-up<\/em> visits of patients already in the system, as well as <strong>virtual consultation<\/strong> and <strong>remote assistance<\/strong>, potentially in favor of the entire population, and <strong>remote monitoring<\/strong>, especially for patients with chronic diseases. Therefore, on the one hand, what exists in the Region territory<br \/>\nwill be consolidated and, on the other hand, the use of the different types of telemedicine services will be expanded,\u00a0also thanks to the support of <strong>TrentinoSalute4.0 and FBK<\/strong>.
