Within the <strong>KRAKEN project<\/strong>, which consists of a <strong>Consortium<\/strong> with <strong>10 partners<\/strong> from 7 EU countries, <strong>FBK<\/strong> will use its experience in defining interactive systems that includethe use of personal data (such as health data)\u00a0and which are addressed to different user profiles (patients, healthcare professionals, etc.). <strong>FBK<\/strong> will provide useful user-centered platform design tools to identify usage requirements, to define use scenarios, and the usability tests for the platform.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Atos<\/strong>, a global leader in Privacy-preserving, Cybersecurity and Digital Transformation, participates in the KRAKEN project as <strong>coordinator<\/strong> of the\u00a0Consortium.<\/p>\n<p>The development of the two of three pillars of <strong>KRAKEN <\/strong>that provide privacy and confidentiality of the data have been finished: the <strong>Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) approach<\/strong> and set of analytic techniques based on advance <strong>cryptographic tools<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>SSI<\/strong> behaves as an identity management which ensures the security and privacy of users\u2019 identity data in a decentralized way using <strong>Verifiable Credentials (VC)<\/strong>, giving <strong>owners of digital identities<\/strong> complete control and guaranteeing the data integrity. \u00a0The solution consists of <strong>a mobile app for users<\/strong>, <strong>a backup system<\/strong> that allows users to operate with multiple devices or VC recovery and crypto-key material to protect the information of the device.<\/p>\n<p>On the side of cryptographic technologies for privacy-preserving applications, <strong>KRAKEN<\/strong> applies Secure Multiparty Computation (SMPC), which allows a group of parties to jointly compute analytics on the data queries from consumers without revealing those inputs or learning the data itself.<\/p>\n<p>Both pillars are being integrated with the third one, the <strong>marketplace<\/strong>, and the combined platform will be validated in the second round of pilots to prove the\u00a0feasibility<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>of the solution, demonstrating the value in terms of scalability and\u00a0performance that could bring to different specialist partner<\/strong> and then applied accordingly by the implementation team.<\/p>\n<p>It will be in a second validation in education pilot, where KRAKEN solution will allow <strong>students<\/strong> to present their academic diplomas as <strong>Verifiable Credentials<\/strong> backed by project <strong>blockchain<\/strong> <strong>technology<\/strong> in a\u00a0<strong>privacy-preserving\u00a0way<\/strong> and digital service providers in European education area to analyse this data without compromising the student\u00b4s privacy.<\/p>\n<p>The health pilot will validate the solution that <strong>enables data providers to control and regulate the use of the data\u00a0they produce<\/strong> leveraging the SSI solution to access to the marketplace and will allow data consumers to gain access to\u00a0high-quality aggregated data\u00a0for their work in a straightforward and seamless way.<\/p>\n<p><strong>KRAKEN project<\/strong> is currently involved in a close collaboration with several other <strong>European projects like CyberSec4Europe,<\/strong> <strong>Arcadian-IOT, Infinitech or DE4A<\/strong> in the identity-related field of innovation, sharing its research activities and different outcomes with the rest of the participants.<\/p>\n<p>Activities related to the exploitation of the outcomes of <strong>KRAKEN<\/strong> are being planned by partners, performing a deep analysis of the current market and its possibilities, and how to manage properly the IPR.<\/p>\n<p>Consortium partners keep on disseminating the results of the project participating actively in events and initiatives, and writing specific publications, from scientific papers to brief posts on web blog, related to the key aspects of
