The digital transformation of the health system – The Conference
Thursday, May 29, at 2:00 p.m. in Sala Depero, ground floor of the Palazzo della Provincia, Piazza Dante, Trento
(a.t.) Trentino is the next stop on the national roadshow dedicated to the digital transformation of healthcare. The event will take place on Thursday, May 29, at 2:00 p.m. in Sala Depero, located on the ground floor of the Palazzo della Provincia in Piazza Dante, Trento. It represents a significant chance to explore the opportunities, challenges, and future perspectives of the Electronic Health Records (EHR) 2.0, as part of a broader systemic transformation involving the entire National Health Service.
Promoted by the Autonomous Province of Trento and the Trento Province Healthcare System, with support from the Ministry of Health and the Department for Digital Transformation of the Prime Minister’s Office, the event will bring together representatives from the government, healthcare sector, professional bodies, institutions, and the scientific community.
“Digitalization is not optional—it is a structural lever and an essential condition for ensuring access to care, continuity, service integration, and quality,” Mario Tonina, the Provincial Councillor for Health, Social Policies, and Cooperation, said. “The Electronic Health Records 2.0 serves as a core digital infrastructure, set to become the citizen’s single point of access to the Health Service, and eventually to social and healthcare services as well. It is a key tool not only for individual care, but also for system planning, governance, and both primary and secondary prevention,”Tonina added.
The future of healthcare lies in digital transformation. This is the central theme of the regional roadshow on the Electronic Health Record (EHR) 2.0, part of a national series of events organized by the Ministry of Health and the Department for Digital Transformation of the Prime Minister’s Office to advance the digitization of the National Health Service.
The conference, titled “The Digital Transformation of the Health System. The Electronic Health Records: Opportunities and Challenges for Healthcare”, will feature contributions from leading national and local authorities, academic institutions, and healthcare professionals.
Opening remarks will be delivered by Councillor Mario Tonina. He will be followed by a number of notable speakers, including Undersecretary to the Prime Minister’s Office Alessio Butti, along with representatives from the Trento Province Healthcare System (APSS), the Ministry of Health, and the Data Protection Authority.
A dedicated session will focus on digital health in Trentino and the current state of EHR 2.0 implementation, with presentations by Diego Conforti (Innovation and Research Office), Alessandro Bazziga (APSS Technologies Department), and Luciano Bocchi (Human Resources Department).
In the afternoon, a roundtable discussion moderated by Andrea Nicolini (TrentinoSalute4.0) will feature representatives from healthcare professional associations, the University of Trento, Fondazione Bruno Kessler, Confindustria Trento, and the Trento Province Health Council.
The event will conclude with a public debate and closing remarks from Councillor Mario Tonina and Antonio D’Urso, Director General of the Department of Health and Social Policies.
The event is intended for the professional categories involved.
