Innovation and longevity with the Salute+ app

28 August 2024 By

We live in a Province where the average age has risen and, according to the latest ISTAT data, the population over 65 has grown from 18.4 percent in 2004 to 23.6 percent in 2024. Being not too encouraging, these data have long drawn the attention of – and raised concerns in – many public administrations committed to implementing urgent initiatives to counter this trend and ensure quality of life standards.

At the microphones of the radio program curated by RAI Trento “Lunga vita al Trentino- segreti di salute e benessere” (Long Live Trentino- secrets of health and well-being) – aired on August 2 – Riccardo Farina (project manager of Salute+ at the PAT Health Department) and Martina Dell’Eva (project manager with TrentinoSalute4.0, and PM of the “Vivere la Salute in Val di Sole” community lab – as part of the “Strategia Nazionale Aree Interne” (National Strategy for Internal Areas) spoke about developments of digital technology in the field of longevity and health in the Province of Trento.

… I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever?
Forever, and ever, Forever young

(song by Alphaville, 1984).

During the episode, they stressed how crucial it is to stay healthy throughout one’s life. For this reason, and to ensure the goal of “more years of life in good health,” the Autonomous Province of Trento, in collaboration with TrentinoSalute4.0, has activated several initiatives, including the “TrentinoSalute+” project, which has enabled the co-design, development and deployment to the entire population of the “Salute+” app, available free of charge for cell phones and tablets on the Android and Apple stores. The app’s graphics and content have been recently updated.

To learn more about how it works and what is new in the project, you can listen to the Long Live Trentino. episode on Rai Play sound app.
